REGISTRATION FOR THE 2019-20 PSR SCHOOL YEAR

Wednesday PSR, 6:00-7:15pm, grades 1-8 at St. Norbert School.

Tuition:

One child $100.00
Two or more: $200.00

The 2019-20 Registration Form is attached below. The deadline to turn in form and payment is August 15, 2019.  If you need to set up a payment plan, please contact the office.  We cannot accept enrollment the night PSR begins as we need to be assured we have the proper number of volunteers in place for your child’s safety.

A copy of your child’s BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE must be on file in the Parish Office if your child was not baptized at St. Francis of Assisi.  Please send a copy of his/her BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE with registration. (Disregard this request if you have already presented a copy for our files.)

If you are in financial difficulties, please contact Fr. Roberts or Deacon Mike at the Parish Office, 576-2628. Remember, inability to pay will not prohibit your child from religious education.

Volunteers are desperately needed and appreciated. Parents are welcome to come with their students anytime! Weekly volunteers in the PSR program are tuition exempt. All volunteers are required to attend the “Protecting God’s Children” class (date and time TBA).

Please make your check payable to St. Francis of Assisi. Forms may be mailed to:

St. Francis of Assisi – PSR
PO Box C
Hardin, IL 62047

or dropped off at the office Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Please click here for the registration form.

Mission

The faculty of the Parish School of Religion seeks to fulfill the teaching ministry of the Church by proclaiming the message of Jesus, fostering community, motivating the baptized to service, and leading students to a prayerful life as an intentional disciple.

Philosophy

The primary purpose of the Parish School of Religion is to provide school age children a formal Roman Catholic religious education program. This program is intended for the children of St. Francis of Assisi & Blessed Trinity parishioners that do not attend a Catholic school. PSR will assist the parents of our parishes in the Catholic education of their children, while asking that parents recall their promise in the rite of Baptism:

You (parents) have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so, you are accepting the responsibility of training them in the practice of the faith. It will be your duty to bring them up to keep God’s commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and neighbor.

Volunteers in the program are parishioners of both parishes, and through prayer and example offer a support system to parents. Parents are also offered many opportunities for ongoing faith enrichment through adult formation experiences such as The Bible Timeline and Parish Missions.
