Mission
The faculty of the Parish School of Religion seeks to fulfill the teaching ministry of the Church by proclaiming the message of Jesus, fostering community, motivating the baptized to service, and leading students to a prayerful life as an intentional disciple.
Philosophy
The primary purpose of the Parish School of Religion is to provide school age children a formal Roman Catholic religious education program. This program is intended for the children of St. Francis of Assisi & Blessed Trinity parishioners that do not attend a Catholic school. PSR will assist the parents of our parishes in the Catholic education of their children, while asking that parents recall their promise in the rite of Baptism:
You (parents) have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so, you are accepting the responsibility of training them in the practice of the faith. It will be your duty to bring them up to keep God’s commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and neighbor.
Volunteers in the program through prayer and example offer a support system to parents. Parents are also offered many opportunities for ongoing faith enrichment through adult formation experiences such as Bible studies and Parish Missions.
We are updating the calendar and will post it soon!
